If you are referring to an online scanner, I will also recommend Trend Micro ahead of AVG.

Using a scanner from a company that has the knowledge about their own software and how it is made, espically the closed source code operations, would be the best to use for scanning your computer.

spyware, avg, mcafee etc

sure many will tell you avast or avg, there protection and removal are lacking and have other problems
