no it hogs up ur memory and misses alot of stuff its just not effective... good ones are avira, and bitdefender, also get a firewall like kerio or agnitium theyre all better and free or atleast for like a year.. then u can just change to another free 1 hope this helps

LOL...have used McAfee Virus Scan for many years and have

had no problems what-so-ever. The program updates its self

and scans the PC on a regular preset basis. PC users who

have virus problems usually don't pay attention to security

and Email attachment's. This is usually the main culprit. Also,

keep your registry clean...delete all temporary and unwanted files and then defrag your hard drive on a regular basis.

I make it a point to do this maintenance at least once a week when I am doing a lot of web searching and especially Email.

Mcafee is horrible, I would suggest Norton. I've been using it for long time and never got a problem or conflict on my system
