ok, about six months ago i bought a used computer and bought norton for it, but it died and i got a new laptop. i need to know if i can use the same disk on the new laptop or buy a new version?

The license for nortons states it can be on one computer at a time, so if the other computer is no longer operating then YES you can install it on another.
