Works for me. It DOES slow your system down though, I've definitely noticed that. But it does what it's supposed to do.

Many have said that the free download of AVG is pretty good as well, though I've never used it.

Not really. It is very bulky and slows down your computer a lot. I suggest buying kaspersky internet security www.kaspersky.com because it is quick and easy to install and activate. And it works fast and really keeps my computer safe from viruses and safe from attacks through my wireless network.

It's alright. Norton Antivirus seems to scan at an extremely slow rate and doesn't pick everything up. I personally would not depend on Symantec/Norton alone on a computer; You can use it, but get another anti-malware program to go along with it.
Oh, please don't buy or get Symantec. It is a resource hog and you'll have nothing but problems. Even uninstalling is so much a nightmare that Symantec has provided their own removal tool because people were having problems getting the uninstaller to work.
